Why the REIQ checklist matters
Ipswich agents compare your exit condition report against the entry report. Anything dirtier than when you moved in can be deducted from your bond, so following the REIQ standard is the safest approach.
Kitchen
Degrease the oven, racks, rangehood filters and cooktop. Wipe inside every cupboard and drawer, clean the sink and taps, and wipe splashbacks. Ovens are one of the most commonly flagged items at inspections.
Bathrooms & laundry
Remove soap scum and mould from showers, glass, tiles and grout. Descale taps and shower heads, clean the toilet including the base and behind, and wipe laundry tubs and the dryer lint filter.
Bedrooms & living areas
Spot-clean walls, wipe skirting boards, doors, light switches and ceiling fans. Clean wardrobes inside and out and vacuum or steam clean carpets.
Windows & outdoors
Clean glass inside (and outside where reachable), vacuum and wipe window tracks, and dust flyscreens. Sweep patios and remove cobwebs.
